Moving from Keitaro

We have done this migration on a live account: 2 274 973 clicks, 1240 campaigns, 2698 streams and 2808 filters, with the reports matching afterwards. Here is what actually happens.

How it goes

  1. 01

    Read-only copy

We take a dump of your Keitaro database and landing directory. Your running tracker is not touched and keeps serving traffic the whole time.

  2. 02

    Structure first

Campaigns, streams, filters, offers, landings, traffic sources, domains, groups and users are converted and loaded into PostgreSQL. Passwords carry over - bcrypt hashes from Keitaro are accepted as they are, so your team keeps their logins.

  3. 03

    History second

Click and conversion history goes into ClickHouse. We compare row counts and headline report figures against the old panel before calling it done.

  4. 04

    Landing pages

The lander directory is copied as-is. PHP pages keep working because the lander runs real PHP 8.3, not a template emulator.

  5. 05

    Domains and TLS

You repoint domains one at a time. Certificates are issued on demand as traffic arrives, so there is no big-bang cutover.

  6. 06

    Parallel run

Both trackers can run side by side while you move campaigns over in batches and compare numbers.

What moves8
  • Campaigns with cost model and domains
  • Streams with priority, weights and schemas
  • Filters including geo, ISP, device, bot and IP lists
  • Offers and landing pages including local files
  • Traffic sources with their parameter mapping
  • Users with bcrypt password hashes and roles
  • Groups and access rules
  • Click and conversion history
What needs a hand4
  • External anti-fraud credentials are re-entered once (Palladium client id and secret, Adspect stream UUID)
  • Postback URLs at your networks point to the new domain
  • Ad-network integrations that Keitaro packaged are rebuilt as outgoing S2S with macros
  • Custom Keitaro scripts and templates outside the standard schema are reviewed one by one
